This full-day training focuses on understanding dyslexia and applying Structured Literacy practices, beginning with the science behind how students learn to read, including a simulation to build empathy for struggling readers, and strategies for creating supportive, inclusive classrooms. In the afternoon, it shifts to the structure of the English language, including phonology, orthography, and morphology, and gives educators practical tools to strengthen students’ decoding, spelling, and vocabulary skills through explicit, systematic instruction.
