Tutors

As a local branch of the International Dyslexia Association (IDA), WABIDA is committed to ensuring families are able to connect with referrals and resources that have been identified in knowledge and training as falling within the evidence-based best practices of multi-sensory literacy instruction. It is recommended that any family in search of a tutor understand how to evaluate an educational professional and personally ensure it is the best fit for them.

For guidance in choosing educational professionals, the following IDA Fact Sheets may also be useful:

Contact information listed below is not to be used for solicitation. WABIDA does not collect, verify, or publish information regarding fees charged by individual tutors or service providers.

Are you a tutor and want to be on this referral list? Please complete our referral application. All applications will be reviewed. WABIDA reserves the right to approve or decline listings at its discretion.

The International Dyslexia Association (IDA) supports the work of The Alliance for Accreditation and Certification of Structured Language Education (The Alliance), the International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC), and The Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators (AOGPE). These organizations represent institutes and agencies that provide training and instructional materials related to language-based learning differences.

The International Dyslexia Association, Washington State Branch (WABIDA) believes that the selection of appropriate diagnostic and remedial resources is the responsibility of the individual or family seeking services, as they are best positioned to determine compatibility and accessibility for their unique needs.

Neither IDA nor WABIDA endorses, accredits, recommends, or evaluates schools, colleges, camps, institutions, teacher-training programs, educational materials or methods, diagnostic tests, or individual practitioners.
