Laura Rogan's Wired for Reading Introductory Course Part 1 

Dates: January 27-29, 2011 and February 10-12, 2011
Time: Thursday & Friday classes: 4:30pm-7:45pm
Saturday classes: 8:15am-4:45pm

Deposit: $150 reserves place (Non refundable after deadline)

Grounded in research, the Wired Fore Reading Introductory Course is organized and presented in four parts: Teacher Essentials; Linguistic Foundation; Core Phonics for ‘words that play fair’; and Word Study strategies for words that do not.

Optional: Three credits through Seattle University Professional Development program EPDLA 900 for $40 a credit or 30 Washington State clock hours. Credits earned may apply towards Washington State teacher certification and for advancement on the salary scale.

Sponsored by the Washington State Branch of the International Dyslexia Association* and Washington State Branch of the Learning Disability Association*. These organizations have partially subsidized the cost of the training for each attendee, reducing it back to 2010 levels of $385.

The Advanced Course is designed for teachers and parents working with children reading at a third grade reading level or higher.  The material in the Advanced course stands alone.  You do not need to take the Introductory courses to sign up for the Advanced class.
