Referral Lists
These are lists of professionals that have been gathered by the Washington State Branch of the International
Dyslexia Association. We do not recommend nor endorse any individual or business, however we can pass along information that
might help you network with those who are involved in the issues of dyslexia. Members of IDA in these directories have been
identified with an asterisk*.
Diagnostic evaluations serve to help idenify an individual's strenghs and weaknesses.
Tutors and Learning Specialists
Remediation is carried out by learning specialists, tutors, speech/language pathologists and educational therapists. Multisensory Remediation
Multisensory teaching is simultaniously visual, auditory and kinesthetic-tactile to enhance memory and learning. Clinics
Clinics provide diagnosis, consultation and/or counseling to help the dyslexic and family of th edyslexic understand their difficulties and differences in the way they learn. Schools
These schools have programs with specific focus on serving the student with dyslexia and/or a learning disability. |
